hey Juta! Wow you look so nice today! Care to dance?

70 Juta is the new black in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, this cultural precinct is home to Post, a lunch and breakfast restaurant where I had the most delicious halva Greek Yogurt Fruit salad! 70 Juta also houses ultra rad shops from Guillotine by Lisa Jaffe and Bam Bam creative studio. If you want to dance with Juta, they have a very groovy compilation for download on their site. Download it here

i would say this chest has been to a very good Tupperware party in Miami, if i didn't know how hard i worked on it.

wow, you smell nice!

Ohlalala, I picked-up the prize I won in the Business Day's Wanted magazine Paul Smith competition. So, whenever you smell something woody with a hint of granny smith apples, it's me.

a clockwork orange...

Last night I proved the old wives tale of 'eating too much cheese before bedtime, will make you restless' right. So, I swiftly avoided that and spent a few hours hunting etsy for clocks. These are some of the treasures I found:

1. Panda, Vintage Mechanical Alarm Clock from Thebig8
2. Vintage Westclox Time'n Date avocado Electric Wall Clock from thornblossom

can you make something everyday for a year?

Shara, a textile creator from North Devon England, has taken on the challenge to create a rabbit from pretty much anything everyday for 365 days. I've picked some of my favorites. Shara is only at the start of her rabbit journey, so it will be very interesting to see what she comes up with. See A rabbit A day.

I [heart] Anna Garfoth!

Anna Garforth, illustrator and designer, works with recycled and natural materials to create thought provoking public works of art, a sort of sustainable cityscape art. I thought these paper pyramids were just ingeniously simple and very effective to liven up this rusty old riveted wall for the 'Love your street' project that was part of the London Festival of Architecture 2010.

Rocking the neighbourhood.

Yesterday I went out to Braamfontein to see how South Point, a student accommodation company, is transforming the old and tried perception of central Johannesburg, into a young and colourful metropolis.
The Central cafe was still in construction, but as the picture shows this student cafe is definitely not a typical student dive.

yes, this is my vintage mirror!

Just look at it, isn't it just splendid? My very first vintage mirror, I've been eyeing this one since kindergarten. It belonged to my ouma and was passed on to my aunt. I've kind of  inherited it prematurely. Love!
